in the long hot summer of 1997 two disgruntled computer operators decided that what the world needed was an avant garde compilation album. they bought themselves a reliant robin, fixed it up, stuck a generator, a 4 track and a pentium 133 in the back, and spent the next year scouring britain for untapped avant garde talent. living off a diet of pot noodles and cheap booze they travelled over 20,000 miles in their quest.

'now that's what i call avant garde' is the result.
